Translational Research focuses on bridging the worlds between basic science and the clinical realm. We leverage the strong connections between our clinicians, engineers and scientists to bring forth solutions that improve health for the sake of all of our patients. Our collaborations extend well beyond the reading rooms into the both the basic science and clinical departments throughout the University and beyond. Through this approach, we can leverage the developments from our NIH and DOD funded innovative scientists and creative engineers to our patients. Our clinician and surgeons bring forth the difficulties that they face in the care of individual patients to identify the highest priority problems that we need to address. Our partnerships extend into the major centers within the School of Medicine, including the Lineberger Cancer Center, Marsico Lung Institute and others. We utilize our extensive clinical and technical expertise spanning all of the imaging modalities, and even work to bring new ones to our patients. We look forward to working with you.
