After 9 years of dedicated service to the Department, Amanda will transition into a new position in the Office of Sponsored Research on March 27, 2017.
Amanda joined the department in fall 2007 as an executive assistant to the chair and assisted in various administrative duties and projects. She later focused her role on communications and development and she is leaving the department now after primarily managing the pre-award functions of grants and contracts for the last year. She has worked closely with all members of the department from faculty on recruitment, promotions, space, and grants management; students and postdocs on infrastructure needs, fellowships, and seminars and events; staff and leadership on several administrative and development projects.
Amanda will join the UNC Office of Sponsored Research as a their new assistant director of operations and will work with the central office to manage the training, communications, and systems needs for sponsored research on campus. We will all miss Amanda greatly, but wish her the best of luck in her new position!
