UNC Pediatric Anesthesia 2025-2026 Fellowship

• Two 2025–2026 Pediatric Anesthesiology fellowship positions
• Fellowship Duration: 12 months
• Fellowship Start Date: August 1st, 2025  (Submit requests for an alternate start date to program director)

Application Period: Opens January 8th, 2024

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, and there is no firm deadline for submission. Our committee strongly suggests that applicants submit all materials no later than April 15th, 2024, to provide ample time to review each submitted application and to schedule interviews for applicants who are selected.

Requirements

The pediatric anesthesiology fellowship program participates in the San Francisco Match. To apply, candidates will need to register with the San Francisco Match. The application for fellowship can be found within the San Francisco Match website, and more information on the Fellowship Application Process can be found on the Society for Pediatric Anesthesia website.

Please submit the following materials with your application:

• Medical School Transcript
• USMLE Steps 1, 2 and 3/COMLEX 1,2, and 3 or equivalent transcripts
• ABA BASIC Exam Score
• MSPE (Medical Student Performance Evaluation/Dean’s Letter)

* ITE scores will be considered should you choose to submit them.

Letters of recommendation should include the following:

• One letter from your Residency Program Director at your training institution
• Two additional letters of reference (one letter preferably from the Director of Pediatric Anesthesiology)

Requirements for further application consideration:

1. Documentation of M.D. degree or equivalent
2. Documentation of completion of all three USMLE exam steps or equivalent
3. Anesthesiology training program completion in an accredited residency program prior to fellowship start
4. Demonstrates evidence of interest and ability to carry out research, publication, clinical, and academic pursuits

Interview Process

** All Pediatric Anesthesiology Fellowship interviews will be conducted VIRTUALLY. **

Invitations for interviews will be offered beginning in February.  Selected candidates will interview with the program director and members of the pediatric anesthesia faculty and fellowship program.
