We’re thrilled to announce that our team has been awarded a Multi-PI R01 grant from the National Institute on Aging (NIA) for the project titled:

“Epigenetic Regulation of Nuclear cGAS Activity in Aging-Related Inflammation”

The grant officially began on August 15, 2025, and marks a major milestone for our collaborative research efforts.

Project Leadership

This is a multi-PI initiative led by Qi Zhang and Pengda Liu, with key contributions from co-investigators Brian Strahl and Rob McGinty

Research Focus

The project explores how epigenetic mechanisms regulate nuclear cGAS activity, a critical pathway in aging-related inflammation. This work has the potential to uncover new therapeutic targets for age-associated diseases.

A True BCBP Team Effort

This award reflects the strength of our Biochemistry and Biophysics community and its commitment to advancing aging research through interdisciplinary collaboration. Congratulations to the Biochemistry and Biophysics Team!
