Anna Wheless, under the direction of Dr. Saskia Neher, successfully defended her dissertation on November 5, 2025, and received her PhD!
Program: Biochemistry and Biophysics.
The title of her dissertation was “Resolving features in the map of lipoprotein lipase regulation.”
Anna earned her B.S. in Microbiology from the University of Houston – Downtown in May 2019 and joined the Neher lab in April 2020. As a graduate student, Anna has been an NSF Fellow, the managing editor of the NC DNA Day Blog, a JEDI Leadership Fellow, the PI of a TraCS Pilot Grant, and a poster award recipient.
