Hanna Trzeciakiewicz, PhD, our recent alumna and former Biochemistry graduate student, was awarded two, not just one, honorable and prestigious UNC awards.
Hanna was selected to receive the 2020 Dean’s Distinguished Dissertation Award in the area of Biological and Life Sciences. The faculty review committee and The Graduate School commended Hanna and her dissertation committee on the originality and significance of her research. Hanna’s research project also received the 2020 Horizon Award. The Horizon Awards recognize outstanding graduate student research that directly contributes to the educational, economic, physical, social, or cultural well-being of North Carolina citizens.
On March 6th, 2020 she defended her thesis, “The Regulation of Tau Pathogenesis in Neurodegeneration.”
