Rebecca Pollet PhD (2016 BCBP Alum, Redinbo lab Alum) started a position as an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at Vassar College in August 2021.
Rebecca will be teaching introductory chemistry, biochemistry and a senior level biochemistry seminar on protein-carbohydrate interactions. Dr. Pollet will be working to establish a lab here with undergraduate students. They will be studying fiber utilization by the human gut microbiome beginning with a focus of how TonB facilitates transport of polysaccharides into the bacteria Bacteroides thetaiotaomicron.
