Surbhi Mundra, Ph.D., Postdoctoral Fellow in Campbell lab joined our department on May 16, 2023.
Dr. Mundra is from Odisha, India, and she grew up in a joint family and a culturally rich environment. She has completed a Master’s in Biotechnology at Sambalpur University, Odisha, India, and her PhD in Molecular and Structural Biology from CSIR- Central Drug Research Institute, Lucknow India.
Surbhi ‘s Ph.D. focused on designing new antibiotics and validating it through molecular, biophysical, and structural techniques. Her thesis was entitled “Structural mapping of the interactions between bacterial peptidyl-tRNA hydrolase with its substrate and substrate analogs”. During her Ph.D., she was fortunate to work on the indigenous (Made in India) COVID-19 diagnostic kit, which was approved by ICMR for use.
Dr. Mundra’s hobbies include Yoga, Dance, Zumba, Painting, Cooking, and anything that she finds interesting. She loves traveling, nature, and good food.
