UNC’s Cryo-EM Core facility develops new methodology for high-speed and high-resolution cryogenic electron microscopy technology
Dr. Jonathan Fay, in collaboration with Jared Peck and Dr. Joshua Strauss of the UNC CH CryoEM Core, published a method paper in ICUrJ (International Union of Crystallography Journal) outlining their success in optimizing the function of a microscope for cryogenic electron microscopy (CryoEM).

How does DNA damage occur? UNC scientists report a breakthrough (WRAL Tech Wire)
"Our findings may help explain, for example, why certain portions of the genome are relatively susceptible to DNA damage during replication in some cancer cells," Dr. Jean Cook told WRAL Tech Wire. The first author of the study is Liu Mei, PhD, postdoc.
