Data Management
The Center for Women’s Health Research frequently collaborates with data management institutions and centers around campus to help investigators ensure they are following best practices for collection and sharing. The Center is happy to make introductions, and help you set up a consulting meeting with the Sheps Center or the Odum Institute to determine what services you should budget for under your application. Both the Sheps Center and Odum Institute will also help you determine what language should be included in the budget justification for those anticipated services and data security.
Cecil G. Sheps Center for Health Services Research
The Cecil G. Sheps Center has provided SAS analytic programming, data management, and web/database application development services to CWHR for several years. Sheps has a pool of SAS programmers who have experience working with primary data collected during a study and with large secondary data, like Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance claims. The Sheps Center has a team of web/database designers and developers that develop customized study participant tracking, data collection, and data visualization systems. Their systems are able to receive data feeds from external data systems like Electronic Health Record systems, disease registries, and health monitoring devices. The Sheps Center provides programming services and can advise on the details of building a project tracking/data collection system as well as the best methods for data collection, analysis and archiving.
