Meet Dr. Miller
Dr. Matthew Q. Miller is Director of the UNC Facial Nerve Center. After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine at the top of his class, Dr. Miller completed a 5-year residency program in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Virginia. He then completed a two-year Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery fellowship at Harvard Medical School, a fellowship that is primarily focused on facial paralysis and facial reanimation treatments. During his fellowship, Dr. Miller received funding from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to study gene therapy treatments on nerve regeneration.
Dr. Matthew Q. Miller is a member of the American Academy of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, the Sir Charles Bell Society (international organization of clinicians dedicated to caring for patients with facial paralysis), the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, and the American Medical Association. He has published many articles detailing treatment strategies for facial paralysis in journals such as JAMA Facial Plastic Surgery. Dr. Miller speaks nationally at meetings on caring for patients with facial paralysis.
