ER Stress Markers in Native CF Bronchial Epithelia

ER Stress Markers in Native CF Bronchial Epithelia.

Carla Ribeiro, PhD, presents a high-resolution immunofluorescent confocal image of native CF human bronchial epithelium depicting the ER stress markers immunoglobulin binding protein (BIP/GRP78; green), protein disulfide isomerase (PDI; red), and their overlay (yellow). Native, infected, and inflamed CF airway epithelia exhibit ER stress and activation of the Unfolded Protein Response.
