Mrs. Carolyn M. Clabo, webmaster and communications & development director in the Biochemistry and Biophysics department was awarded a School of Medicine pilot grant that will cover her expenses of $3,195 in 2022 for coursework and certification in digital media and marketing. This program is administered by Duke University and will take one year to complete.

Duke University Digital Media and Marketing Program

This online, self-paced program is designed for individuals seeking to enhance their existing digital marketing skills or pursue a new career in the growing digital marketing industry. Students will earn a certificate exclusively branded and issued by Duke University. The program will provide students with advanced knowledge of the eight most important digital marketing domains such as Content Marketing, Mobile Marketing, Search Engine Optimization, Web Analytics, Email Marketing and Social Media Marketing. The program also includes real-world projects and virtual simulations for practical experience. Students will learn more about the various digital marketing platforms such as Google, Meta, LinkedIn and Instagram.

The pilot grant will cover expenses in Summer 2022 related to education and training, including opportunities like credit and non-credit courses, certificate programs, conferences, or similar opportunities.
