Carolyn Marie Clabo will assume full responsibility for our department’s communications and development on March 27, 2017.
Since joining Dr. Aziz Sancar’s Lab in October 2015 to manage his speaking invitations, travel, the Sancar lab website, and digital communications, Carolyn Marie Clabo has revitalized the department’s online presence since January 2017 by launching new social media accounts, initiating website projects, and leading a redesign of faculty research pages.
Beginning March 2017, Carolyn will take on a new role leading all Communications and Development for the UNC School of Medicine’s Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics. In this expanded role, she will also oversee fundraising efforts for national cancer research conferences and manage corporate and foundation grants from pre-award through post-award. She will also oversee the transition of the department’s website from Plone to WordPress.
Reach out to her to update your digital directory and faculty research page, and alert her when your lab’s research paper has been accepted for publication in a journal. Carolyn will write up press releases and coordinate new publications across the university.
