Congratulations to Cassandra Hayne on her new Assistant Professor position with the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Chicago.

Cassandra Hayne, a 2017 UNC BCBP PhD graduate, has accepted a tenure-track assistant professor position in the department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Chicago. Dr. Hayne earned her PhD in Saskia Neher’s lab for her work on lipoprotein lipase. She next obtained postdoctoral training in Robin Stanley’s lab at the NIEHS, where she studied tRNA splicing. Dr. Hayne is a recipient of an NIH MOSAIC K99/R00 Pathway to Independence Award.

The Hayne Lab will work on understanding the structure and function of a subset of RNA processing complexes.
