The department is pleased to welcome Jimmy Pratas, a new student in the Biochemistry program joining the Tigist Tamir lab.

About Jimmy
Originally from New Jersey, Pratas completed his undergraduate studies at Penn State in 2020. He later worked as a research technician at Princeton before relocating to North Carolina. Jimmy said he was drawn to research because it allows him to pursue interesting questions in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Pets
Outside the lab, Pratas shared that he has two hairless cats, Bean and Jojo, who take their role as supervisors very seriously.
