While this past year has been filled with challenges to us as individuals and as a community, we remain hopeful that the pandemic and recent events will continue to improve and lead to a better 2022. During this holiday season, take time to remember the importance of self-care, nutrition, exercise, sleep, healthy relationships, and stress management for your overall wellness.
I will continue communicating with you about a variety of resources and programming in the coming year. Until then, I will highlight a few of the resources available at UNC to support students, postdocs, faculty, and staff including:
- Mental Health & Wellness Program (for MD & PhD students)
- Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS, for students)
- Take the Well-Being Index (5 minutes, questions) to assess your stress and well-being.
- Well-Being Resources

This week, our team published a new webpage for Wellness. Special thanks to Carolyn M. Clabo, Director of Communications and Website Content, and Bradley R. Olson, Strategic Communications and Web Design, at the School of Medicine for their efforts.
Sincerely,
Jill Dowen, Ph.D.
