Congratulations to Dr. Parise who will become an Associate Editor of Blood, a peer-reviewed journal published by the American Society of Hematology, effective January 2013 for a four-year term.
Dr. Leslie Parise, Professor and Chair of Biochemistry & Biophysics, has been selected as a new Associate Editor of Blood. Dr. Parise will begin her four year term in January 2013 and serve with Dr. Bob Lowenberg, the new Editor-in-Chief. Blood is a weekly medical journal published by the American Society of Hematology. With 1,364 articles published annually, an impact factor of 10.558, and an Immediacy Index of 1.980. Blood is the most cited peer-reviewed publication in the field. The journal provides an international forum for the publication of original articles describing basic laboratory, translational, and clinical investigations in hematology.
Dr. Parise has also been a past recipient of the Stewart-Niewiarowski Award for Women in Vascular Biology and is an elected fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science. Research in her lab focuses on understanding how cell signals and adhesion receptors merge to control events in cardiovascular disease and cancer.
