Congratulations to Justin Black, graduate student of Biochemistry and Biophysics, who was awarded a Predoctoral Fellowship by the American Heart Association!

The predoctoral fellowship program of the American Heart Association is designed to help students initiate careers in cardiovascular and stroke research by providing research assistance and training. Justin is currently training in the lab of Dr. Leslie Parise, Professor and Chair of Biochemistry and Biophysics. Justin received the competitive fellowship to study “CIB1 regulation of integrin alphaV beta3 activation and function in endothelial cells.” His award began July 1, 2013 and runs through June 30, 2015.
