Yanyan Yang PhD Sancar lab
Yanyan Yang PhD, Research Assistant Professor

Congratulations to Dr. Yanyan Yang on her promotion to Research Assistant Professor on May 19, 2022.

Dr. Yang joined Professor Sancar’s lab as a postdoc in 2015. She received her Ph.D. degree from the Chinese Academy of Science in Beijing, China. Since joining the Sancar lab, Dr. Yang started to work on the mechanism of the mammalian circadian clock and the effect of the circadian clock on DNA repair. Her current research goals are to understand the molecular mechanisms of DNA repair and clock function in mammalian organisms including normal tissue and tumors, and the link between the clock and the DNA damage responses by using the different circadian knockout mouse models, and mouse tumor model. She also has great experience in high throughput genomic sequencing data analysis including XR-seq, ChIP-seq, RNA-Seq, and Damage-seq.
