On June 8, 2023, the Biochemistry and Biophysics department held an Ice Cream Social to kick off the summer and welcome our summer undergraduates and new members!

Meet Dr. Logan Slade, a postdoctoral fellow in the Cook lab. His PhD research focused on the regulation of cell stress responses in triple-negative breast cancer, specifically focusing on the transcription factor TFEB.

This year’s University Research Week events will highlight the exceptional achievements of Carolina researchers across our many disciplines addressing changing climates. A request for proposals will soon be issued for units interested in hosting their own featured event during the celebration.

"Development of VHL-recruiting STING PROTACs that suppress innate immunity" has been published online in Cellular and Molecular Life Sciences. The first author is Dr. Zhichuan Zhu in the Pengda Liu lab.

Surbhi Mundra PhD joined our department on May 16, 2023. Dr. Mundra is from Odisha, India, and she grew up in a joint family and a culturally rich environment. Join us in welcoming her to our team!
