We are excited to announce that Dr. Rebecca Traub, Principal Investigator at The University of North Carolina, has been selected to receive an award from the Charcot-Marie-Tooth Association (CMTA) to support research within the Inherited Neuropathy Consortium (INC).
The INC is a collaborative network of academic medical centers, patient advocacy organizations, and clinical research resources dedicated to improving care and advancing knowledge of Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease (CMT). Through the end of 2024, the INC was primarily funded by the National Institutes of Health. Beginning January 1, 2025, the CMTA assumed key operational and funding responsibilities to ensure the continuation of this vital work for the CMT research and patient communities.
Dr. Traub’s award will help drive innovative projects aimed at understanding CMT and improving outcomes for patients living with inherited neuropathies. This recognition underscores UNC’s commitment to cutting-edge research and collaboration in the fight against rare neurological diseases.
