Chapel Hill, NC — September 30, 2025 — We are proud to announce that Dr. Clio Rubinos has been awarded the prestigious Annual Zeto Clinical Trial Sponsorship Program for her pioneering research project focused on the use of continuous EEG in Zambia.

Dr. Rubinos will lead the PRECISE-Z Study (Pilot Evaluation of Continuous EEG Implementation for Seizure and Status Epilepticus Management in Zambia) in collaboration with Dr. Saylor and Dr. LaRoche. This innovative implementation science initiative aims to evaluate the acceptability, feasibility, and implementation strategies for continuous EEG in a low-resource setting.

The study will also explore the clinical spectrum of epileptiform abnormalities, electrographic seizures, and status epilepticus in critically ill patients. With a focus on improving diagnosis, treatment, and patient outcomes, this effort represents one of the first continuous EEG studies ever conducted in a low- to middle-income country.

“This research marks a significant step toward addressing global disparities in access to advanced neurodiagnostic tools,” said Dr. Rubinos. “We hope our findings will help transform the care of patients with acute neurological conditions in Zambia and beyond.”

Please join us in congratulating Dr. Rubinos, Dr. Saylor, and Dr. LaRoche on this remarkable achievement and their commitment to advancing global neurological care.
