Xian is a highly skilled 3D Medical Animator who recently joined the Neurosurgery Media Team at the University of North Carolina. She is dedicated to using her skills in 3D CG software to create clear and informative illustrations and animations that help convey complex neurosurgical concepts.
Xian’s education background includes a Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting from Boston University, where she also pursued minors in biology and art history. More recently, she completed an accredited graduate program in medical illustration at Rochester Institute of Technology, which provided her with a strong foundation in the field. Xian’s interest in bio-communication began when she attended a medical illustration summer camp at Cleveland Institute of Art. Since then, she has gained valuable experience through various research and internship opportunities at Boston University and Brigham and Women’s Hospital, which have helped her develop her skills as a medical illustrator.
As a member of UNC Neurosurgery’s media team, Xian is excited to establish herself as a respected professional in the field of medical illustration and animation. She is committed to creating high-quality work that brings novel research and medicine to life. With her passion for her craft, technical skills, and attention to detail, Xian is poised to make valuable contributions to the field and further enhance the UNC Neurosurgery Media Team’s capabilities.
