Call for Abstracts: Deep Brain Stimulation & Focused Ultrasound Symposium of the Carolinas

We are excited to announce our upcoming event, the Deep Brain Stimulation & Focused Ultrasound Symposium of the Carolinas taking place on March 21st, 2026, at the Carolina Club in Chapel Hill, NCThis symposium aims to bring together neurosurgeons, neurologists, fellows, residents, scientists, and engineers from across North and South Carolina to foster clinical and research collaboration in neuromodulation.  We are anticipating a broad regional participation and a dynamic day of interactive sessions, invited talks, and trainee presentations.

Call for Abstracts: Residents & Fellows

We invite residents and fellows to submit structured abstracts for consideration.

Abstract format and requirements
• Maximum length: 250 words
• Structured sections: Introduction / Methods / Results / Discussion

• Include: Title, author(s), institution, and presenting author contact information

Podium Presentations & Awards

Top-rated abstracts will be selected for podium presentations, with opportunities for awards recognizing outstanding submissions.

Dr. Günther Deuschl – a leading neurologist with extensive expertise in deep brain stimulation (DBS) and movement disorders.
Dr. Kullervo Hynynen – a pioneering scientist and inventor whose work has been foundational to focused ultrasound (FUS).
