Cam Enarson, MD, MBA was appointed Senior Vice President, Carolina Value in January 2015. Prior to this appointment he served as Vice Dean for Finance and Administration, UNC School of Medicine. Dr. Enarson also holds an appointment as Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology.
In his role as Senior Vice President, Carolina Value, Dr. Enarson works with UNC School of Medicine and UNC Health Care System administrators to facilitate the successful implementation of the Carolina Value initiative which is a health care system and SOM wide multi-faceted project designed to enhance patient access and satisfaction, improve operational efficiency, enhance the quality of system wide processes and strengthen the health care system and School of Medicine's financial stability.
Dr. Enarson previously served as Senior Advisor to Dean Roper, as Vice President for Health Sciences and Dean of the School of Medicine at Creighton University, and as Senior Associate Dean at Wake Forest University. Additionally, he served as Interim Dean and led the initial development of the new medical school at Central Michigan University. Dr. Enarson was heavily involved with the medical school's preparation for the successful March 2012 LCME site visit and helped lead the institutional self-study.
Dr Enarson earned his BA from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN, and his MD from the University of Alberta School of Medicine in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. He completed a residency in anesthesiology at the University of Maryland and a fellowship in cardiothoracic anesthesia and intensive care at the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center of Pennsylvania State University. Dr. Enarson completed an MBA at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
