Jimmy Fay earns his PhD!
Jimmy Fay successfully defended his thesis on July 20th, 2022, titled, “The Nanoformulation of Brain Derived Neurotrophic Factor and Reformulation with PEG-free Polymers”. The work was completed under the direction of Alexander V. Kabanov.

The UNC RNA Discovery Center Has Launched!
The RNA Discovery Center will cultivate an inclusive community of scientists dedicated to investigating all aspects of RNA biology, some of which has already been implicated in human diseases and much of which we know very little about. The Department ranks fifth among all Biochemistry departments in the US, (both public and private institutions) in 2021, and 3rd among public institutions. We received over $19.3 million in funding from NIH in 2021.
