Associate Professor Ogün Adebali was awarded the TÜBİTAK Incentive Award for his internationally distinguished work in developing bioinformatics tools that enable the examination of DNA damage responses across various organisms. 


Assoc Professor Ogun Adebali received a Turkish prize in 2024 image of face and Turkish languageTÜBİTAK (The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye) is the leading agency in Türkiye tasked with promoting, funding, conducting, and coordinating research in science and technology. Established in 1963, TÜBİTAK supports innovative scientific projects, provides research grants and scholarships, and actively fosters scientific advancement and technological innovation at national and international levels. It also plays a key role in shaping science, technology, and innovation policies within Türkiye.

 Ogun Adebali PhD, is a visiting faculty member and Associate Professor from Sabanci University. Dr. Adebali is a familiar face around our department because from 2016 to 2018, he served in the Sancar lab as a postdoctoral research associate. Dr. Adebali is known for his work in genomics and bioinformatics. He specializes in sequence analysis, mutations, molecular evolution, and DNA repair.
