Gabrielle J. Dardis, graduate student in Albert Baldwin’s lab

Gabrielle Dardis, a BCBP graduate student in Albert Baldwin’s lab (Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center), was awarded the Ruth L. Kirschstein NRSA Predoctoral Fellowship (F31) on July 7, 2020 from the National Cancer Institute. Her proposal, titled “EZH2 as a Transcriptional Activator of NF-kappaB in Triple Negative Breast Cancer” will address non-canonical functions and inflammatory signaling crosstalk of epigenetic protein EZH2 over three years of fellowship funding. Gabrielle will utilize global protein localization and transcriptional analysis, proteomics, and cancer cell studies to define a predicted signaling axis and determine the implications of this axis in Triple Negative Breast Cancer cell growth and development.
