On August 15, 2023, a group of Indian trainees at UNC celebrated India’s 77th Independence Day. The day marks the date on which India got its independence, in 1947. It is celebrated every year in the remembrance of the freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives to free India from the ruling Britishers, back then. The event at UNC was attended by the postdocs, students, trainees of different departments and parents of some of our colleagues throughout the university. We were glad to have some of our non-Indian friends as a part of the celebration.

Leiah Marie Carey, Ashhar Mohammad Khan, Claire Mueller, Surbhi Mundra, Sourav Patra, and Ajit Prakash were among the BCBP trainees at this celebration.
