Rally for Medical Research – September 18, 2025 | Washington, DC
A delegation from UNC joined more than 400 advocates from across the country in Washington DC to urge Congress to prioritize funding for medical research and the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Participants met with Congressional staff and members to call for sustained investment to advance treatments, inspire hope, and improve public health.
UNC School of Medicine faculty members Dr. Cook and Dr. Jen Jen Yeh from surgical oncology were invited by the UNC Office of Research to join a delegation at an event on Capitol Hill. The itinerary was guided by Lanier Swann Hodgson, Vice President of State & Federal Relations for UNC Health and the UNC School of Medicine.
