About Sydney
Sydney is a new student at UNC who is originally from Hebron, Connecticut, and spent the past six years in Boston for college and work before coming to Chapel Hill.
She completed her undergraduate degree at Brandeis University, where she conducted research in the Goode Lab on actin-septin cytoskeletal remodeling.
After graduating, she worked at the Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering in the Walt Lab, focusing on brain-derived extracellular vesicle isolation and TB/HIV diagnostic development.
Sydney said she chose the program because of its collaborative environment and supportive community, citing faculty-student collaboration as a key reason for pursuing graduate training there.
