UNC Neurology is pleased to announce the promotion of Dr. Clio Rubinos from Clinical Assistant Professor to Clinical Associate Professor based on excellence in clinical activity.
Dr. Rubinos is a member of the Neurocritical Care & Epilepsy Divisions and Director of the Post-acute Symptomatic (PASS) clinic as well as the Co-Director of the Global Health Neurology Elective Rotation program. Her interests include critical care, traumatic brain injury, intracranial hemorrhage, acute ischemic stroke, EEG , and epilepsy. She was selected as a UNC School of Medicine Simmons scholar in 2024 and was awarded the SIREN MAGNETIC Hub Junior Faculty Subaward from Duke Emergency Medicine.
Dr. Rubinos earned a Doctor of Medicine from the Universidad peruana Cayetano Heredia in Lima, Peru in 2006. She completed her Residency internship at Loyola University Medical Center in 2013 and her Residency in Neurology from Loyola University Medical Center in 2016. She completed her first fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology in EEG and Epilepsy from NYU Langone Medical Center in 2017 and a second fellowship in Neurocritical Care and Neurovascular Emergencies from NY Presbyterian Hospital, Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons in 2019. Following her fellowship, she joined UNC in November 2019 as an Assistant Professor in the Division of Neurocritical Care. She further completed a master’s in science and clinical research from the University of South Carolina in March 2021.
