The research goal of the Department of Neurosurgery is to help create new knowledge that advances the care of patients with neurosurgical disease. In this setting, clinical research is particularly important. UNC Neurosurgeons are actively involved in the brain tumor consortia including the Alliance, the Brain Tumor Trials Collaborative and the CERN (Collaborative Ependymoma Research Network) Foundation. UNC is an active participant in the genetic sequencing of protocol termed UNCseq and supports ongoing stroke trials within the Department of Neurology.

To match patients with current clinical trials, please visit Research Match, Clinical Trials or UNC’s research site, Join the Conquest. If you would like to learn more about participating in a clinical trial, please read this brochure published by the National Cancer Institute: Taking Part in Cancer Treatment Research Studies (PDF Brochure)
