Tatyana Bodrug PhD (alum ’22) shares her Thesis research project

Dr. Gary Pielak named 2024 Biophysical Society Fellow
The Society’s Fellows Committee has named Dr. Gary Pielak a 2024 Fellow of the Biophysical Society for his scholarly and extensive biophysical studies on protein structure and dynamic, both in vitro and inside cells, with a particular emphasis on crowding.

Aki Braceros earns her PhD!
Aki Braceros successfully defended her dissertation under the direction of Dr. Mauro Calabrese on September 8, 2023, and she has received her PhD. The title of her dissertation is “Epigenetic regulation of gene expression by long non-coding RNAs.”

UNC RNA Discovery Center awards inaugural fellowship grants
The UNC RNA Discovery Center has awarded three fellowship grants to support innovative research investigating various roles of RNA in health and disease. Two out of the three fellowships were awarded to members of the BCBP department. The Collaborative Team Science Fellowship goes to Qi Zhang, PhD, Joshua Boyer, PhD, and Ron Swanstrom, PhD. James Emerson was awarded the Marzluff Graduate Fellowship.
