Riya Gohil makes it to Three Minute Thesis finals
Riya Gohil a graduate student in Jill Dowen's lab presented at the 3MT finals on October 21, 2025 during UNC Research Week. The Three Minute Thesis (3MT) is an academic competition where graduate students have just three minutes to explain the breadth and significance of their research project to a non-specialist audience. She was one of the ten outstanding graduate students selected to compete in the 2025 3MT Finals.

Clint Stalnecker was named a Forbeck Scholar
Clint Stalnecker, Assistant Professor, was named a Forbeck Scholar by the William Guy Forbeck Research Foundation on October 17, 2025, and will attend the May 3-6, 2026, meeting on “Causes and Consequences of Cellular Plasticity in Cancer” in Princeton, NJ. He joins our faculty in the Fall, and his laboratory is located within Lineberger.
