Jean Marie Niyitegeka Mwiza received an ASH Abstract Achievement Award for his abstract titled The Small Gtpase Rap1 in Platelets Is Critical for Arterial but Not Venous Thrombosis in Mice in 2021.

Mr. Mwiza is a pathology graduate student who is jointly supervised by Alisa Wolberg in Pathology and Wolfgang Bergmeier in Biochemistry and Biophysics

The ASH Abstract Achievement Award is a merit-based award for trainees who are the first author and presenters of a high-scoring annual meeting abstract. Abstract Achievement Award recipients will receive a $500 stipend and give a presentation at the annual ASH meeting.
