The National Science Foundation (NSF) has released its 2021 fiscal year Higher Education Research and Development (HERD) data, and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill has once again ranked 10th for federal funding and 13th overall in the national research rankings for public and private universities...

Our mission to promote the health and wellbeing of the people of North Carolina and beyond has sustained us through the many challenges we have faced. I am grateful to each of you for how you have come together to develop solutions that improve the ways we work together, and the ways we care for our patients across the State and beyond.

This year, we topped $1.2B in research awards, continuing our year-to-year growth in sponsored research activity and showing gains across most disciplines. Additionally, more than 30 researchers from Carolina made Clarivate’s Highly Cited Researchers list as trailblazers among their peers. Those recognized had papers that ranked in the top 1% of citations for field and publication year....

Donors, alumni and other supporters of the UNC Health Foundation will come together this fall for the seventh annual Tar Heal Tuesday fundraising campaign. Set for November 29, this day of giving will once again aim to raise money in support of UNC Health and UNC School of Medicine.

The UNC School of Medicine has received the 2022 Health Professions Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award from INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine. The School of Medicine was recognized for its robust DEI infrastructure across campus, numerous efforts designed to provide education and training opportunities for the next generation of doctors, basic science researchers, health scientist, and rural initiatives that improve access to care for all North Carolinians.

The 2022-2023 Carolina Cares, Carolina Shares State Employees Combined Campaign launched Sept. 29. The campaign aims to strengthen North Carolina communities and provide UNC-Chapel Hill employees with an opportunity to make a difference across the state and nationally.

Through the Employee Assistance Program, staff and faculty can get advice about legal and financial issues as well as mental health support.
