Application Prioritization and Deadlines
Prioritization of Requests
Visiting PA/CAA student rotations are NOT based on first-come first-served basis.
APP student rotation requests are prioritized as follows:
- UNC-Chapel Hill students
- UNC Health employees
- Other UNC system schools
- Other in state schools
- NC residents attending out of state programs
- Out of state students in out of state programs
Once requests are prioritized, feasibility is determined by many factors, including placement of UNC PA students (who take priority at their home institution), site and preceptor availability, as well as the multitude of other learners present at UNC clinical sites which may dilute the potential experience of a visiting student.
Important Deadlines
Due to the high volume of PA, NP, CNM, DNP and MSN student clinical rotation requests, requests must only be placed during specified date ranges so that the requests can be prioritized by the APP Center. PA, NP, CNM, DNP, and MSN students must apply during the appropriate time period based on the start date of the rotation. Use the chart below to determine when to apply. If you have more than one rotation request, you MUST submit a separate application for EACH rotation request.
The APP Center ONLY reviews rotation request applications that are submitting during the following time periods:
