UNC School of Medicine & Office of Research The Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics hosts Rising Star Seminar: Alex Guseman PhD Postdoc, Univ. of Pittsburgh School of Medicine Targeting Spike Glycans to Inhibit SARS-CoV2 Viral Entry. Thursday, June 9, 12:15-1:15 pm Location: UNC-CH MBRB 2204The Rising Star Program is a professional development training program that helps postdocs prepare and become more competitive for faculty job interviews at institutions including UNC School of Medicine.

Six Rising Stars are meeting with departments in the School of Medicine on June 9 and 10th. Schedule: 2022 Rising Star Seminars

Our department is hosting Dr. Alex Guseman. Alex is a postdoc at the University of Pittsburg School of Medicine.

Rising Stars have the opportunity to have 1:1 mock faculty interviews with 5 faculty members, give a research seminar to the School of Medicine, chat with graduate students and postdocs, and give a chalk talk to departments outside of the School of Medicine.

The UNC SOM’s Rising Star Program’s main goal is to increase diversity among faculty members in the basic sciences, with a specific focus on groups historically minoritized in the basic sciences. Read more about the Rising Star Program.
