Adil Muneer successfully defended his dissertation under the direction of Dr. Xian Chen on August 25th, 2023, and he has received his PhD. The title of his dissertation is “Non-canonical translation regulatory function of G9a in chronic inflammation associated diseases.”

The UNC RNA Discovery Center has awarded three fellowship grants to support innovative research investigating various roles of RNA in health and disease. Two out of the three fellowships were awarded to members of the BCBP department. The Collaborative Team Science Fellowship goes to Qi Zhang, PhD, Joshua Boyer, PhD, and Ron Swanstrom, PhD. James Emerson was awarded the Marzluff Graduate Fellowship.
