On December 16th, people from all over campus came by to wish Lynn off to a wonderful start to her retirement, including members from our department, her peers from other units, retired faculty, and facilities members. We shared treats, cupcakes, and laughter!

Our 2022 retreat was held at the Museum of Life and Science in Durham on October 21 which included departmental talks, posters, a Carer and DEI panel, and other fun activities which made for an engaging and exciting day at the museum. Our Keynote speaker was Dr. Mary Munson.

We are super excited to be able to have our annual retreat this year. Our retreat will be held on October 21, 2022 at the Museum of Life and Science, Durham NC. The first inaugural UNC Biophysics Field Day, an afternoon of friendly competition to foster community among the Molecular and Cellular Biophysics students & faculty, was a huge success! Biophysics cohorts & faculty faced off in several rounds of science-themed challenges. Thank you to all of the organizers & participants: Amelia McCue, Odessa Goudy, Gage Leighton, Nick Randolph, Emily Beard, Xavier Bonner, and to Holly Shepherd, Wolfgang Bergmeier, Jill Dowen, Brian Strahl, & Steven Torchio.
