Wilkins, MD Lectureship in Academic Neurosurgery sponsored jointly by the UNC and Duke Neurosurgery Departments on February 9th at the Carolina Inn. An innovative collaboration between UNC and Duke has resulted in the creation of the Elizabeth Bullitt / Allan H. Friedman International Fellowship in Neurosurgery. The fellowship was announced on February 9th, 2016 at the Robert H. Wilkins Lectureship in Academic Neurosurgery held at the Carolina Inn.

Dr. Peter A. Rasmussen presents at the Noah K. Duncan Visiting Professor Lectureship

Peter A. Rasmussen, MD presented a talk on “Mobile Stroke Treatment Units: New System of Stroke Care” to over 40 attendees on January 27th, 2016, in the Bioinfomatics Building. Dr. Rasmussen is the Director of the Cerebrovascular Center at Cleveland Clinic, and Associate Professor at Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University. Judy Huang, MD, FAANS presented a talk on “Tailored Management of Arteriovenous Malformations” to over 50 attendees on October 6th, 2016, in the Bioinfomatics Building. Dr. Huang is Vice Chair, Department of Neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins University and the Director of the Department of Neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. Matt Ewend, MD, FACS, has been named President of UNC Physicians. In this role, Ewend will oversee the physician clinical enterprise of UNC Health Care, which includes more than 2,400 physicians and 600 Advanced Practice Providers in 450 practices spanning the UNC Physicians Network, UNC Faculty Physicians, and physician practices at UNC Health Care affiliate hospitals.
