Medication Assistance Program
Our Mission
The mission of SHAC MAP (Medication Assistance Program) is to serve the community’s socioeconomically vulnerable patient population by providing them with free access to brand-named medications through manufacturer and state patient assistance programs. Efforts focus on medications to manage chronic diseases, including diabetes, hyperlipidemia, hypertension, smoking cessation, contraception and asthma.
About Us
We help SHAC patients apply to assistance programs to get their medications for free!
There are two types of programs we use:
- Manufacturer programs: brand name medications (e.g. Chantix, IUD, inhalers)
- NC MedAssist: generic medications (e.g. statins, ACE inhibitors, metformin, and more!)
Eligibility Criteria:
- No health insurance, North Carolina resident, or undocumented, low income, and stable on chronic medications
