Our Mission

Get Covered Carolina works with underserved and vulnerable patients in the area in order to help them navigate the online insurance marketplace and their options for insurance coverage. Our Certified Application Counselors sit down directly with consumers and walk them thorough the online insurance marketplace website. We also answer any of your questions or concerns about the application process, insurance, or any other related issues! Our organization mainly operates during Open Enrollment every year, but please contact us via our email or phone number if you have an health insurance related questions any time of the year.

 

About Us

Get Covered Carolina helps guide uninsured members of the community through the process of applying for health insurance coverage under the Affordable Care Act. Volunteers offer one-on-one counseling for patients recruited through partnerships with the SHAC Medical Clinic, Piedmont Health Services and the UNC Department of Family Medicine. Get Covered Carolina is officially recognized as a Certified Application Counselor organization by the US Department of Health and Human Services.

  • When can I enroll in health insurance?
    • Normally, during an Open Enrollment period, which runs from November 1st – December 15th every year. However, in 2021, there is a Special Enrollment Period from February 15th – May 15th due to the pandemic!
