Jeffrey Nguyen, MHA, has been selected as the next associate chair of administration for the department of neurosurgery. His work with the department will begin August 4, 2025.
Jeffrey joins UNC from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, where he has served in several leadership roles within the department of gynecology and obstetrics, most recently associate department administrator.
A returning Tar Heel, Jeffrey received his Bachelor of Science in Public Health and his Master of Health Administration from UNC. He is currently pursuing his Doctor of Public Health in Health Policy and Management at Johns Hopkins University. He is board-certified in healthcare management as a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
We would also like to thank Jim Murphy, who has served as ACA of neurosurgery since 2010 and has served as interim during the search for a permanent candidate to fill the role. It was announced in August 2024 that Jim would serve as the ACA for the department of surgery.
