Staff Awards for UNC Employees
Consider nominating exceptional UNC School of Medicine employees for employee recognition awards both at the School of Medicine and at the University level:
Dean’s Staff Performance Awards
The Dean’s Office announces an annual Dean’s Performance Award, created to honor exceptional School of Medicine staff not eligible for UNC Health Care Cash Awards.
Nominees will have demonstrated exceptional performance by an individual or group effort that make significant contributions to our triparte mission and help us reach our vision to be the top public School of Medicine; two $1,000 awards will be given for each of the 4 award areas outline in the new SOM strategic plan SOM: Accelerate Forward Together.
Peers or supervisors may recommend exceptional coworkers for the awards through their ACA, Basic Science/Center Business Managers or Administration Department Heads for submission. Each department, center or administration office will then submit up to 4 nominations (1 for each of 4 focus areas: People, Education, Research, Patient/Clinical Care to the Dean’s Office for consideration.
New nominations will be accepted May 15 – June 16, 2025. The winners will be announced at the 2025 Staff Summit September 22, 2025; all eligible nominees will be acknowledged at the Staff Summit.
