The UNC Academy of Educators (AOE) is now accepting applications for membership from School of Medicine faculty, staff, educators, residents, fellows, and trainees. The AOE is dedicated to fostering excellence in medical and biomedical education through teaching, mentoring, curriculum design, leadership, and scholarship. Membership offers opportunities for professional growth, collaboration, and recognition within our community of educators.

Applicants must attend two AOE events before applying.

Membership is awarded based on accomplishments in areas such as teaching, curriculum development, advising and mentoring, educational leadership, and research.

Completion of programs such as FLAGship or TARHEEL automatically qualifies participants for membership with a streamlined application process.

Applications are due September 30, 2025; new members will be announced in late October and inducted at the Frank C. Wilson Professionalism Forum in November 2025.
