The UNC School of Medicine is seeking a skilled career goal advisor (CGA) for the specialty of Obstetrics and Gynecology to assist and advise students who are interested in applying into ObGyn for residency. Head career goal advisors will meet with students one-on-one and in groups to help them choose Individualization phase courses and to make data-driven choices in their application to optimize their Match outcomes. They will also review applications if students need input and feedback. CGAs will provide information related to their specialty match and work closely with all resources in UNC SOM Office of Student Affairs. This position will be supported at 0.1 FTE (at least 184 hours of work per Match cycle) and will be supervised by the Associate Dean for Student Affairs. Advisors are expected to be available and accessible to respond to student questions and concerns; some after-hours availability is expected. 1) Cover letter describing prior experience with career goal advising and addressed to the Career Goal Advisor Selection Committee

2) CV

3) Signed letter from the department chair indicating, “I support this faculty member in their pursuit of a Head Career Goal Advisor position with UNC SOM. I understand this is supported by SOM with 0.1 FTE in salary support and will provide this faculty member appropriate administrative time (at least 184 hours each year) to fulfill the duties associated with this position starting July 1, 2026.” Additional supporting comments from the chair are optional.
