Dear Teammates,
Thank you for the many ways that you came together to support our patients over the last several days. As our state faced snow, ice, and bitter cold, hundreds of teammates stayed in our hospitals to ensure there was no disruption in patient care. In a true reflection of our One Great Team, we had teammates coming together to help in whatever ways were needed – transporting patients, delivering food, helping to clean rooms. I’ve been so inspired by the stories of teammates who shared that being a part of this effort made them feel proud of the impacts we’re making and equally moved by the photos of smiling teammates pitching in to help. These are our values in action.
The preparations for the weekend began as the forecast came into focus with leaders from across the system meeting daily last week to ensure we were prepared. I also want to celebrate the work of our Care Access team who spent the week proactively reaching out to patients to reschedule appointments or convert to virtual where appropriate. Impressively, 25% of scheduled appointments were able to be completed virtually. The quick shift to virtual care represents a huge benefit to our patients who can safely receive the care they need.
Moments like this show us the strength of our team and reinforce our commitment to each other and to our mission. I remain so grateful to you for your work and dedication.
Sincerely,
Cristy
